Dr. Matthew Goodwin serves as a plastic surgery and reconstruction specialist at Dermatology of Boca. Dr. Goodwin’s practice covers the breadth of plastic surgery; however, at Dermatology of Boca, most of his work relates to conditions of the skin including skin cancer, benign skin lesions, and age-related skin changes. He will often perform the skin closures after a Mohs surgeon like Dr. Fromowitz removes skin cancer with a specialized “Mohs” technique that maximizes the cure rate for complete removal while minimizing the amount of tissue removed. In addition, Dr. Goodwin will also excise and close skin lesions himself if Mohs surgery is not involved. Furthermore, he performs lots of cosmetic procedures such as botox/neuromodulator injection, filler injection, and lasers. He also offers consultations for cosmetic surgical procedures for the face, breast, and body.

Dr. Goodwin is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a graduate of Princeton University and Yale University Medical School. He spent his general surgery residency years at the University of Minnesota; followed by plastic surgery residency at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He then underwent a fellowship in advanced microsurgical breast reconstruction and cosmetic surgery at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Subsequently, Dr. Goodwin was awarded an international visiting fellowship at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, in Taiwan, a center on the leading edge of advancing reconstructive techniques. 

After his years of surgical training, Dr. Goodwin has dedicated his life to helping people of south Florida improve their lives through plastic surgery and reconstruction. Dr. Goodwin is on staff at an advanced cosmetic surgery and medical spa facility, as well as four medical centers in Palm Beach County.

While passionate about first-rate surgical treatment, Dr. Goodwin is just as concerned about excellence in patient care.
